The public is invited to celebrate summertime with the Falmouth Chorale as they present “A Grand Night for Singing!” at Marina Park on Scranton Avenue in Falmouth on Tuesdays, July 15 and 22, at 7 PM. In celebration of its 50th anniversary, the chorale is presenting these concerts for free.
The musical program, compiled by Falmouth Chorale artistic director John Yankee, takes the audience on “a sentimental journey,” with selections from Broadway to Brubeck to Brahms. Stephanie Weaver will accompany the group on keyboard and jazz guitarist Pat Ryan will be a featured performer.
A highlight of the evening will be an old fashioned sing-along with Mr. Yankee and the chorale leading songs from the Fred Waring Song Book.
Marina Park setting is informal, with plenty of room for lawn chairs and picnic blankets. Since it is next to Falmouth Harbor, those attending may wish to bring jackets.
Sponsors for this event include Cape Cod Arts Foundation, The Falmouth Fund of the Cape Cod Foundation, Falmouth Track Club, and Woods Hole Foundation. The season sponsor is Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod.
