Tickets are now on sale for the Marine Biological Laboratory’s summer concert featuring Curtis On Tour, a program of the Philadelphia-based Curtis Institute of Music. The concert will be held on Sunday, July 20, at 7 PM in the Lillie Auditorium, 7 MBL Street, Woods Hole.
Curtis On Tour brings the artistry of the Curtis Institute of Music to audiences worldwide, with students performing alongside alumni and faculty.
The MBL concert will feature a string chamber orchestra performing Antonio Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons,” paired with Ástor Piazzolla’s “Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas” (The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires). For these four tango works by Piazzolla, current students Jung Min Choi, Nadir Khashimov, Ye-Rang Kim, and Marié Rossano will be joined by Curtis alumna, violinist Elissa Lee Koljonen.
The concert is made possible by a gift from Pat Gage and Irina Wilson Gage.
The performance will be followed by a champagne and dessert reception. Tickets for the concert and reception are sold separately. Concert tickets range from $20 to $150 and are available in advance at mbl.edu/concert or by calling 508-289-7423. Tickets will also be available at the door or until sold out. Dessert reception tickets are $100 each and will be available until 5 PM on July 16. Proceeds will support the MBL’s research and educational programs.
