The community is invited to experience “Folk Music in the Meadow” with singer, acoustic guitarist and composer Jim Scott, who will perform folk songs “for peace, justice and the Earth” in the meadow at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Falmouth. The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 12, at 6:30 PM at the Unitarian Universalist meetinghouse, 840 Sandwich Road in East Falmouth. Participants should bring a lawn chair or blanket, and a picnic if they choose. Iced tea, lemonade and desserts will be provided.
A Massachusetts native, Jim Scott has performed around the world from Carnegie Hall and the Newport Jazz Festival to concerts in Europe and Australia. He has sung with folk legends Pete Seeger, Peter Yarrow and many others. “We are lucky to have him perform here on Cape Cod,” said event organizer and UUFF music committee chairman Judy Andrade.
The event is sponsored by UUFF’s music committee and benefits the fellowship’s choir. Admission is $15 for adults and free for children under 12. Parking is free at the UU fellowship and adjacent lots.
