The roads in Falmouth today are terrible. we've had two "daylight" storms this season and in both the the roads were in worse shape than all the after hours storms....why is that? plow drivers are called heroes, compared to soldiers on facebook. They're doing a job, a job for which they are well night. DPW drivers do NOT want to plow during the day! They will stay up all night plowing at time and a half, but when a storm hits as six am, well....we're on break. The town needs to look at how the snow budget is spent, and the expectations placed on town workers during snow emergencies. What do you want to wager that after the sun goes down tonight, DPW activity will ramp up? Tomorrow morning social media will be filled with dpw workers saying "heading home after a long 24 hours" and the praise will rain down "oh you hero's deserve a break"....they've taken a break all day, just waitin for the OT.
