The second annual Mashpee Pirate Palooza, sponsored by Mashpee Family Medicine at South Cape Village in Mashpee, will be Friday and Saturday, July 11 and 12.
Pirate Palooza is presented by South Cape Village and the Mashpee Chamber of Commerce and benefits area nonprofit organizations which get to keep 50 percent of the proceeds from the button sales.
With a button, one can attend Pirate Family Night on Friday, July 11, with its opening ceremony featuring a cannon blast, the hoisting of the pirate flag, and entertainment by DJ Paul Eason. The next day, the button allows attendance at the Toe Jam Puppet Band pirate show, Pirate School, Walgreen’s photo booth, the Wee “Matey” bounce house and more.
The Thieves Marketplace, the Pirate Childrens’ and Dogs’ Parade, and performances by B.O.N.E.S (Brethren Order of the Northeast Seas) on Saturday are all free.
The Pirate Childrens’ and Dogs’ Parade led by B.O.N.E.S is sponsored by Caring Hearts Animal Hospital and steps off at 10 AM (9:30 line-up) in front of Gaucho’s Cuisine at South Cape Village. Prizes will be awarded to children and dogs with the best pirate and mermaid costumes. There will also be prizes for the best decorated wagons, carriages and homemade floats.
