Meeting To Focus On Health Center Matters

Health center representatives throughout the Cape and Martha’s Vineyard will observe National Community Health Center Week (August 10-16) by meeting with local, state and federal government officials at the Duffy Health Center in Hyannis on Wednesday, August 13, from 8 to 9:30 AM.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss how health centers serve as economic forces in their communities, health centers’ responses to the substance abuse epidemic, and health care reform integration and innovations.
Expected to attend are the chief executive officers and executive directors of local community health centers, including Duffy Health Center, the Community Health Center of Cape Cod, Harbor Health Center, Island Health Care, and Outer Cape Health Services. Together, these facilities provide care for more than 45,000 residents of Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard, employing approximately 500 people and maintaining operating budgets of more than $40 million.
