New Exhibit Opens At Bourne Historical Society

The public is invited to the opening of the Bourne Historical Society’s new exhibit on the opening of the Cape Cod Canal on Saturday, June 28, from 2 to 4 PM.

This is the exhibit that premiered in the State House in Boston earlier this year. The Historical Society will also be introducing the new Arcadia book, “Bourne,” authored by Gioia Dimock, who will be available to talk with the public and sign copies of the book, which will be available for purchase.

The Cape Cod Canal Centennial exhibit includes many of Fred Small’s glass plate negative images of the building of the Cape Cod Canal.  It tells the story of the canal from  the beginning of construction through Opening Day, July 29, 1914.

The Jonathan Bourne Historical Center is at  30 Keene Street in Bourne Village.
