Six Falmouth High School Students Honored in Art Competition

Six students from the Falmouth High School studio art program won awards in this year’s Congressional Art Competition, a competition held each spring in congressional districts across the country. 

Earlier this spring, Representative William Keating hosted the competition for students in the 9th congressional district at the Plymouth Center for the Arts. 

Neva Callaghan won first prize in mixed media, Cecilia King won first prize in printmaking, Emma Helfrich won second prize in printmaking, Molly Walker won third prize in printmaking and Taylor Dimond and Maddie O’Neil won honorable mentions. 

Neva, Molly, Emma, Taylor and Maddie are all rising seniors in Jane Baker’s advanced studio art class, Cecilia, also an advanced studio art student was among the graduates of the Class of 2014.
