The director of the Falmouth High School Clipper Marching Band, Steven Edwards, invites students in grade 8 at the Lawrence School and grades 9 to 12 at the Falmouth High School to join the marching band. The band is an award-winning ensemble comprised of approximately 40 to 50 students.
Openings are available for students who play flute, clarinet, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, baritone, tuba, percussion, and mallet percussion. Students interested in Color Guard are also encouraged to participate. Prior marching or music experience is not required. Marching band is a two-credit course for students in grades 9 through 12.
All band and Color Guard beginners at any grade level are asked to attend the camp at Falmouth High School on August 4 to 6 from 9 AM to noon, and on August 11 to 29 from 9 AM to noon on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and from 5 to 8 PM on Tuesday and Thursday. Students should wear sneakers, sun block, and light clothing.
Regular season rehearsals run September through November on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 and on Saturdays 9 AM to noon. Color Guard rehearses Monday, Tuesday, Thursday evenings from 6 to 8 and Saturdays 9 AM to noon.
