Gardeners looking for that extra boost to the coming growing season’s crop of flowers, fruits or vegetables are invited to Valley Farm Community Garden in Pocasset for their Gobbler’s Gold compost sale. The sale is a fundraiser designed to raise money for the three-year-old organization.
Gobbler’s Gold is an all-natural product of composted turkey manure made from food waste, cranberries, manure, leaves and wood waste. No chemicals are used.
“It has been the secret sauce to phenomenal success the past two years at the community garden,” Valley Farm spokesman Diane M. Speers said.
Gobbler’s Gold will be available in 40-pound bags at $6 each. Sales will take place today from 1 to 6 PM; tomorrow from 9 AM to 2 PM; Friday, May 2, from 1 to 6 PM; and Saturday, May 3, from 9 AM to 2 PM.
Proceeds from the compost sale directly benefit Valley Farm Community Garden, an organic community garden open to all residents of Bourne. Residents are also invited to join Valley Farm for its Gardening Galore Flea Market and Thrift Green Thumb sale on Saturday, April 26 from 9 AM to 2 PM.
Valley Farm is entering its third season. Valley Farm Thrift and Community Garden is next to Cape Cod Senior Residences and Elder Services of Cape Cod, at 892 County Road in Pocasset.
