Volunteers Sought For Annual Falmouth Flashlight Tour

Falmouth Museums on the Green  will present the 6th annual “Visit with the Night Watchman” on Saturday, October 25, from 6 to 9 PM. Volunteers are needed for many creative roles, from setting the stage, creating props to being actors and watchmen to guide visitors, and selling tickets.

The museums will use the 1790 Dr. Francis Wicks House and its grounds as they have for the past five years for the evening flashlight tour, with town “spirits” lurking in the corners and/or interacting with visitors in very short improvisations. The tour is meant to be mildly scary and serve families with children over the age of 6.

Preparation involves three to four meetings through the month of October on weeknights as the script and scenes are worked out.  The first meeting will be in the summer kitchen of the Wicks House, 55 Palmer Street, on Monday, September 15, at 5:30 PM. There will be parking in the Katharine Lee Bates lot. The meeting is expected to last an hour. At this meeting, new characters and new stories will be created.

This will be a four-week effort. Chief instigators are Tamsen George and Kay Morse, Falmouth Historical Society, and can be reached at tamseng@aol.com and kaymorse@gmail.com.
