Celebrate the 375th anniversary of Sandwich and discover the history of this village with a docent-led walking tour this summer. The walk will include the recounting of stories of the famous (and not-so-famous) residents of Sandwich and their impact on the town—the Town that Glass Built. The walks take participants through the village, starting at the Sandwich Glass Museum in Sandwich’s Glass Town Cultural District.
The tours last approximately an hour and a half and are offered every Tuesday and Thursday in July and August and in September on Saturdays and the first two Saturdays in October. There will be no walking tour on Saturday, September 13, due to the 375 Celebration of Sandwich and the Grand Parade.
Walk participants meet at the Sandwich Glass Museum, 129 Main Street in Sandwich, opposite the town hall, at the corner of Tupper Road and Route 130, at 10 AM. Walking shoes are recommended. If it rains, the tour will be canceled. Tours are free, although donations are welcome.
