Fukushima & the Ocean Lecture @ Redfield Auditorium
When: Thu May 9th
6:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Where: Redfield Auditorium | Water Street | Woods Hole
The meltdown of the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan—besides causing the displacement of families, the economic losses, and the health concerns for citizens—will have decades and decades of lasting effects on the ocean.
An upcoming colloquium at Redfield Auditorium has been organized by WHOI in an attempt to help the public better understand the effects on marine ecosystems, particularly in the wake of Japan’s triple disaster: the earthquake, tsunami and the meltdown of the Daiichi nuclear power plant.
It will take place on Thursday, May 9, from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. The public is invited free of charge.
Those wishing to attend are encouraged to RSVP ahead of time by registering at whoi.edu/main/morss/fukushima.
A copy of Oceanus Magazine will be given to those attending.
