Book Talk and Signing with Superman Historian, Larry Tye
(Sandwich—June, 2013) Bestselling author Larry Tye, author of Superman:  The High-Flying History of America's Most Enduring Hero, will be at Titcomb’s Bookshop on Saturday, June 15th from 1-2pm for a discussion of his new history of our most enduring superhero, just in time for the new film, Superman: Man of Steel.  This event is free and open to the public.  Light refreshments will be served.
Superman is the first full-fledged biography not just of the Man of Steel, but of the visionary writers and artists, publishers and performers, who kept aloft the red-and-blue-clad icon through seven decades and counting. Larry Tye shows us how Superman — like few other mythical characters before or since — has evolved in a way that offers a Rorschach test of his changing times and our highest aspirations.
Larry Tye is an award-winning writer and former Boston Globe journalist.  He has written acclaimed books on Satchel Page, the history of Pullman Porters, and a wide array of other topics.  A former Nieman Fellow, he is currently writing a biography of Robert F. Kennedy.
