"Discovering the Cape Cod Shoreline" @ Cape Cod Maritime Museum

Gil Newton is a Cape Cod native who has been teaching environmental science at Sandwich High School and the Cape Cod Community College for a number of years. He is one of the founders of the Barnstable Land Trust and is a past president of the Thornton W. Burgess Society and the Association to Preserve Cape Cod. Professor Gil Newton is an author of several books on the Cape's coastal environment including the recent "Discovering the Cape Cod Shoreline," also the title of his current presentation.
His talk will review many of the common plants and animals along the Cape Cod seashore followed by a tour of the beaches and marshes to explore the fasci-nating diversity of life at the edge of the sea. Samples of algae, mollusks, echinoderms, and crabs will be examined and discussed.

An optional purchase of Gil Newton’s field guide "The Ecology of a Salt Marsh: A Tour of Crocker Neck" is available at the end of the talk for $12, with proceeds benefitting the Barnstable Land Trust.
