Town Cove Chamber Players @ Cape Cod Museum of Art
When: Sun Mar 16th
2:30 pm - 3:30 pm
Where: 60 Hope Lane
The concert is part of the Cape Cod Museum of Art's weekly Music & More winter concert series.
Although youthful, the four members of the chamber group bring together a wealth of musical experience.
Deborah Geithner (piano) founded the Town Cove Chamber Players in 2009. Since moving to the Cape permanently in 2004, she has divided her time between performing chamber music and teaching. She still takes the occasional lesson with master piano teacher Alexander Petrushka of New Rochelle, N.Y.
Kwon Faith (violin) has been playing the violin since childhood. She has studied at Longy School of Music of Bard College in Cambridge and recently earned her Master of Arts in teaching at Simmons College in Boston. Apart from her college years, she has been a member of Cape Community Orchestra since 1994 and currently serves as that group’s concertmaster. She’s an original member of the Town Cove Chamber Players.
Monika Woods (clarinet) won first prize in The Soloist, Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra’s first New England Concerto Competition for an upcoming soloist, held in May 2013. Woods – who grew up in a small Hungarian village – came from Romania to the Provincetown/Truro area to work in the summer of 2003 and returned for an internship and work program in 2006. She now lives in Brewster.
Lisa Gross (cello) has played with Boston Civic Orchestra and Kiss & Tango, a cello and guitar jazz tango group, in addition to the Town Cove Chamber Players. She also plays piano and has studied with the late Lily Dumont, a concert pianist who escaped from Nazi Germany and immigrated to the United States.
Admission is $12 for museum members, $15 for nonmembers. Reservations are recommended and may be made by calling (508) 385-4477, ext. 15.
