Morris dance talk @ Woods Hole Public Library

When: Wed Mar 19th
7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Where: 581 Woods Hole Road

Jan Elliott, local specialist in medieval and renaissance dance and  music, will demonstrate and give an illustrated talk on the history of Morris, a lively dance form which she has performed and taught on Cape Cod and beyond.  Morris is an exuberant and athletic traditional dance from England. Once performed across Europe, its English variant dates back at least 600 years. While little is known about how its movements looked then, someillage teams can trace an unbroken history back several centuries, passing unique village styles and dances from father to son.

This talk is free and open to the public. For more details, visit  www.woodsholepubliclibrary.org or call 508-548-8961.
