Poetry reading @ Woods Hole Public Library

As part of National Poetry Month, Prosser Gifford will lead an evening of poetry reading. The ten poems that will be read and discussed have been chosen by poet Lisa Olstein for Common Threads, the Massachusetts state poetry organization. She has gathered poems with “deep ties to Massachusetts…poets that span decades and continents and expansive aesthetic domains.” The authors include Elizabeth Bishop, Jorie Graham, E.E. Cummings, Sylvia Plath, Thomas Sayers Ellis, Eileen Myles, Peter Gizzi, Stanley Kunitz, Agha Shahid Ali & Robert Creeley.
