The Woods Hole Film Festival presents the world premiere screening of writer/director John Stimpson’s new film "The Off Season," starring Amanda Charlie Hofheimer, Hal Ozsan and James McCaffrey. The film was shot in Woods Hole and Falmouth during the winter of 2013. Stimpson will participate in a question and answer session after the screening.
In the movie, Julie (Amanda Schull) and Trent (Charlie Hofheimer), escape to Cape Cod in the winter for a “babymoon”. It’s quiet and cold, but very cozy and private in the resort community of Woods Hole in the offseason. Julie is six months pregnant, and the happy couple is very much in love. Trent shows her the nautical restaurant that he wants to buy as a way to start their life together as a family. The problem is, Julie is still technically married to another man, even though their divorce is pending. When her husband Jonathan (Hal Ozsan) mysteriously shows up and Trent disappears, Julie must solve the mystery of Trent’s kidnapping, confess her affair to her husband and save Trent’s life before time runs out. Meanwhile, only Julie holds the secret truth of which man in her life is the father of her baby.
The 23rd Woods Hole Film Festival will take place from Saturday, July 26 through Saturday, August 2, 2014.
