“Dying Green,” a film about conservation burial, will be featured at the next Falmouth Death Cafe. “Dying Green” explores one man's vision of using green burials to conserve land. The film is 27 minutes long and will be followed by a five-minute Al Jazeera America news feature filmed here in Massachusetts about the local green burial committee. Heather Massey of the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Eastern Massachusetts will talk briefly about those efforts and discussion among Falmouth Death Cafe members on the possibility of forming a green burial committee on Cape Cod.
Death Cafe is an international movement started in Europe to encourage people to talkabout the taboo subject of death. It is not a support group, nor a counseling session, nor a workshop, and it is not affiliated with any religious organization. It is simply a gathering of community members in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere to sip drinks, munch treats and share a respectful, engaging, thought-provoking and life-affirming conversation.
The presentation will be followed by facilitated conversation in small groups.
