"The Drowsy Chaperone" @ Highfield Theater

A musical within a musical, “The Drowsy Chaperone” parodies 1920s musicals as a Broadway fanatic, known only to us as ‘Man in Chair,’ narrates the ins and outs of the fictional show, “The Drowsy Chaperone” (‘music by Jule Gable, lyrics by Sydney Styne’). The story’s tagline reads “a mix-up, mayhem, and a gay wedding,” and we are introduced to the crazy characters of the show, including a starlet, an aviatrix, and two gangsters disguised as pastry chefs. Be transported back to a classic, 1928 Broadway Theater to see “The Drowsy Chaperone.”
