Cape Cod's classic rock sensation, Groovy Afternoon, will bring their Woodstock era tribute to AseltonPark in Hyannis, MA on Saturday, September 1, 2012 from 5 - 6:30pm in a concert to benefit the Veterans Outreach Grace Center (VOGC) in Mashpee.  The event will be hosted by Suzanne Tonaire from Dunes 102 and offer several ways to donate to the VOGC.

The VOGC, run by The Nam Vets Association, is to be a fully integrative rehabilitation center blending traditional and holistic therapies for veterans and their families who suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and/or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).  It will provide life-long mental health therapies and case management for the veteran and their family members through both traditional and holistic methods.  This out-patient wellness center will offer critically needed services to an estimated total population of 1,000 veterans on the Cape and Islands.

Lead singer of Groovy Afternoon, Christine Mascott said, "paying tribute to the time period we do, it's important to us to honor our Veterans. We're so happy to organize this concert to help the servicemen and women in our Community and thank them for their service."

The band members of Groovy Afternoon collectively have over 100 years of musical experience under their belts from Christine Mascott who is a critically acclaimed rock vocalist and screen actor to her guitarist husband, Paul Mascott, whose performance credits include international touring productions of The Who's Tommy and Jesus Christ Superstar.  The band also includes Dan Lyons on bass and drummer Mark Karras.
