Cranberry Cluster All-Breed Dog Show @ the Barnstable County Fairgrounds

When: Sat Sep 15th
8:30 am - 3:00 pm

Where: Barnstable County Fairgrounds, 1220 Nathan Ellis Hwy, East Falmouth

The Cape Cod Kennel Club and the South Shore Kennel Club proudly present their annual Cranberry Cluster All-Breed Dog Shows beginning on Thursday, September 13th and running through Sunday, September 16th at the Barnstable County Fairgrounds. Judging will begin daily at 8:30 AM.
From Poodles, Scottish Terriers and German Shepards to Saint Bernard's,Spaniels and Retrievers, spectators can expect to see all of their favorite dog breeds.
For each breed at the show, dogs will be judged first by class in different sexes and ages, followed by a Winners Class competition, consisting of winners from each class judging.
The Best of Breed competition follows with the two winning dogs, one male and one female. The two dogs chosen are then called to compete in one of seven groups: Sporting, Hound, Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting, and Herding. The seven group winners then meet in the final competition where one is ultimately chosen "Best in Show."
Judges consider physical structure, condition, coat, gait, and temperament when reviewing a dog and aim to find the perfect dog of a particular breed. Watch the classes and/or visit "backstage" grooming areas, filled with over 100 different kinds of AKC purebred dogs being primped by expert breeders, handlers and professional groomers for their turn in the show ring. This is a great place to ask questions, learn more about your favorite breeds or find the best breed for you, and to talk with professionals in the dog fancy.
Obedience Trials will showcase amazing examples of dogs working with their owners. Rally events will take place where dogs compete in all kinds of obstacle courses.
Thursday and Friday of the event will feature the Puppy Spectacular with a special "Best Puppy in Show."
The Cape Cod & South Shore Kennel Clubs, in their effort to support dog lovers of all ages, will have a Responsible Dog Ownership display to provide educational information on classes & events you can bring your dog to. Food concessions and vendors selling all kinds of wonderful items for you and your dog will be on site
Only competing dogs will be allowed entry, and tickets will be sold at the gate: Adults $5 and $2 for children under 12. Spectators should bring their own chairs or blankets. For complete event information, visit www.cranberrycluster.com.
