Jim Coogan to Deliver 1st ALL 25th Anniversary Lecture, "Remembering Old Cape Cod', Thursday, October 11 at 3 PM, Science Lecture Hall A, Cape Cod Community College
Jim Coogan, noted authority on Cape Cod history from the earliest days to the modern era, will tell a number of interesting and over looked tales in this talk - bits and pieces of history and strange and unusual folklore based on his thirty years of research and writing on this subject. Mr Coogan is the author of eight books about Cape Cod, including three for children, His "Sail Away Ladies. Stories of Cape Cod Women in the Age of sail" won the 2004 US Maritime Literature Award. Jim is also a regular columnist for the Cape Cod Times. Raised in Brewster, he attended local Cape Schools, and is a graduate of Boston College. A US Navy veteran, Jim was a high school teacher for almost 30 years, Jim retired in 1999 and launched Harvest Home Books with his writing partner, Dennis author, Jack Sheedy. He lives and writes in Sandwich. The lecture is free and open to the public.
