Portfolio Day @ Cape Cod Museum of Art

When: Sat Oct 13th
11:30 am - 2:30 pm

Where: Cape Cod Museum of Art | 60 Hope Lane | Dennis

Cape art students will have the opportunity to have college-level instructors review their artwork at the Cape Cod Museum of Art's ninth annual Portfolio Day on Saturday, October 13 from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The event is free of charge.
In each previous year, more than a hundred young people have attended the portfolio review, a three-hour event open to high school - and even junior high - students seeking a professional critique of their work. The event is especially useful for juniors and seniors who are applying to art schools, as well as to current college students seeking to transfer to an art school. The college representatives offer constructive suggestions on how the students can improve their portfolios.
Representatives from 13 different schools will attend. The in-state schools include Cape Cod Community College in West Barnstable; Massachusetts College of Art and Design; the School of the Museum of Fine Arts; Suffolk University in Boston; the Art Institute of Boston in Cambridge; UMass Dartmouth in Dartmouth; Endicott College and Montserrat College of Art in Beverly. Participating out-of-state school are New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester; Maine College of Art in Portland; Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, Connecticut; Pratt Institute's upstate campus at the Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute in Utica, New York; and Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah and Atlanta, Georgia.
The Cape Cod Museum of Art is located at 60 Hope Lane off Route 6A on the grounds of Cape Cod Center for the Arts. Regular admission is $9; $8 for seniors; $5 for children 13 to 18, and free for children 12 and under. Hours are 11 AM to 5 PM Tuesdays through Saturdays and noon to 5 PM on Sundays. More information may be obtained by calling 508-385-4477.
