In September of 2010, Cotuit Center for the Arts and Trespass Music partnered to begin the Art Barn Songwriter Series, which brought some terrific local and national talent to the Center’s campus.  Held in the Art Studio building, affectionately known as “The Art Barn” and located to the right of the main building, this special series will continue to give music fans an up close and personal look at the area’s up and coming performers.

The series will return on the fourth Monday of every month in 2012 from March through November. Each performance will feature 2 professionally touring songwriters, each playing a 45 minute set. As a surprise treat, nationally touring artists are again expected to stop by for an occasional solo show. Doors open at 7pm and the shows begin at 7:30pm. There is a suggestion donation of $5.00 at the door. All donations are split between the artists; both the Center and Trepass Music donate their time and location to help support homegrown music.

The Art Barn Songwriter Series also features a recurring Open Mic Night, a smashing success with great local talent, including spoken word. Please join us as a participant or as a spectator for a suggested donation of $5.00 at the door. We’re looking for those hidden gems – come and share your music and poetry with us!
