Stolen @ Falmouth Art Center

When: Wed Oct 31st
3:30 pm - 5:30 pm

Where: Falmouth Art Center | 137 Gifford Street | Falmouth

The Falmouth Art Center is presenting “Masterpiece Theatre: Art Cinema Series,” which will show art-related films bi-monthly on Wednesday afternoons at the center. The second of the series will take place on Wednesday, October 31, with a screening of the documentary “Stolen” at 3:30 PM at 137 Gifford Street.
Suzy Bergmann, executive director of the Falmouth Art Center, says the series will attempt to connect the films to the current exhibits on display. Refreshments will be served afterward to allow for discussion of the film.
“Stolen,” directed by Rebecca Dreyfus, documents the swirling conspiracies surrounding the 1990 heist of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. One of the modern world’s largest art heists, 13 paintings were stolen including three Rembrandts, a Manet, and Vermeer’s “The Concert,” one of only 35 pieces left from the master painter. The film is the winner of the Audience Award at the Sarasota Film Festival and Best Documentary at the Avignon/New York Film Festival.
