Robert Wyatt Performance @ Private Residence

When: Sun Jan 6th
2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Where: Private Residence | Penzance Point | Woods Hole

The Woods Hole Public Library is delighted to offer a Robert Wyatt performance on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at 2 pm, at a private home on Penzance Point. The second in the Library’s winter concert series, on this occasion in the more intimate atmosphere of a private home, his program offers an inspiring start to the New Year.
Pianist Robert Wyatt will present a program of his favorite composer, Johann Sebastian Bach. He will play works of Bach on the piano, both original and in transcription, speak aboutBach’s life and his contributions while illustrating the chronology by choosing recordings of masterworks. Enjoy cello suites by Yo-Yo Ma, Glenn Gould fingering the Goldberg Variations, the Emerson Quartet playing The Art of the Fugue and the quiet virtuoso, Dinu Lipatti, performing a clavier concerto. Perhaps most thrilling will be selections from a recording of Robert Shaw conducting Bach’s Mass in B minor, perhaps his most magnificent work.
More information regarding the concert location is available by calling the Library at 508-548-8961, during its regular hours of operation. Tickets cost $25 and are limited in number. They may be purchased at Eight Cousins, the Bank of Woods Hole, and at the Woods Hole Public Library.
