The second in the museum’s weekly Music & More winter concert series, the program will consist mainly of the “Wind Sextets” of Haydn and Mozart, for pairs of oboes, horns, and bassoons. These charming Divertimenti pieces – little gems by the great masters – overflow with melodies and skillful use of the instruments. The musicians for this program are Laura Pardee-Schaefer and Laura Shamu (oboes), Robert Marlatt and Fred Aldrich (horns), and David Gallagher and Ken Fukuhara (bassoons).
The sextet’s performance will last about an hour, with refreshments to follow. Admission is $12 for museum members, $15 for nonmembers. Reservations are recommended and may be made calling (508) 385-4477, ext. 15. Those who attend the concerts my also view the exhibitions in the museum’s galleries before and after the program.
