Book Discussion @ Titcomb's Bookshop

When: Sun Jan 20th
2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Where: Titcomb's Bookshop | 432 Route 6A | Sandwich

Velia Pola author of A Bridge Between: Northern Italy Come Hell or High Water will be at Titcomb’s Bookshop for a book signing on Sunday, January 20th from 2-3pm.   This moving memoir is the story of her journey to Italy with her parents.   Velia’s parents, Carlo and Peggy Pola, will join us for the discussion.

Velia Pola, who grew up in Sandwich, wanted to fulfill her 91 year old father's dream to visit his ancestral village in northern Italy.    A colorful travelogue, the book is also a love story of devotion, acceptance, and the evolution of family relationships.  Flashbacks to the author's childhood on Cape Cod intertwine with the history and beauty of Italy to create a unique memoir that entertains from a variety of perspectives. Told with both a good deal of humor and raw emotion, A Bridge Between offers a view into how familial roles must adapt with the passage of time.

Velia Pola lives on Cape Cod with her husband.  She enjoys going “over the bridge” to find unexpected adventure whenever possible.
