Book Signing With Author Joseph Monninger
(Sandwich—February 2013) Joseph Monninger author of Margaret from Maine will be at Titcomb’s Bookshop for a book signing on Saturday, February 9th from 1-2pm.
Margaret from Maine is a novel about a young woman whose husband was critically injured in Afghanistan and left in a comatose state. A devoted wife, Margaret struggled for years through pain and loneliness to raise their son on a dairy farm in rural Maine. When she is invited to Washington, DC, to meet the President as he signs a bill in support of wounded veterans, her escort is Charlie King, a newly trained Foreign Service officer who has left the war with wounds of his own. Charlie and Margaret's shared circumstances inspire them to confide in one another and the couple find themselves falling in love. But Margaret's vows to her husband linger, raising a series of harrowing choices.
In addition to his novel novels, Joseph Monninger has published several award-winning young adult novels and three books of nonfiction, including the memoir "Home Waters." He has been awarded two National Endowment for the Arts fellowships. He lives and teaches in New Hampshire, where he also runs a dog sled team.
