"The Show That Shook the World"
April 5, 7:30pm. Come celebrate the 100th anniversary of the NY opening of the most controversial modern art exhibition of the 20th century ... the so-called "Armory Show." The documentary recaps the story of the 1913 International Exhibition of Modern Art and features a previously unknown illustrated talk by Marcel Duchamp, whose "Nude Descending a Staircase" caused a sensation in 1913 and launched his reputation as one of the most influential figures in modern art. The screening will be followed by Q&A with Richard Williams, who recorded Duchamp’s lecture and made it available for the film. Thanks to Little Marsh Productions for bringing this film to the Cultural Center. $10pp. The Cultural Center is located at 307 Old Main St., South Yarmouth.
