“Red,” John Logan’s award-winning play about the life and art of Mark Rothko, will run at Cotuit Center for the Arts April 11 through April 28. The production will be directed by Mary Arnault.
Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8 PM and Sunday at 2 PM.
“Red,” which won the 2010 Tony Award and the Drama Desk Award for best play, is a riveting portrayal of abstract expressionist painter Mark Rothko (1903-1970), one of the foremost artists of the 20th century. Paint and canvas collide as the play explores the purpose of art and the relationship between the artist and his work.
Tickets are $22, $19 for seniors, $17 for members, and $15 for students.
