Bassist Frank Tate has been a regular at Woods Hole jazz concerts since the early 1980's and has introduced such players from the New York scene as Howard Alden, Dan Barrett, Rossano Sportiello and Harry Allen as well as appearing here with Dave McKenna, Bobby Greene, Stan Strickland, Alan Dawson, and many others from New England.
Now Mr. Tate will bring New Zealand born pianist Alan Broadbent and New Yorker Eliot Zigmund to make up a jazz trio at the Fishmongers Coffee House concert, held on Tuesday April 9 at 8 PM
Alan Broadbent has worked extensively with bassist Charlie Hayden, and also played with Woody Herman and Chet Baker. He has won two Grammies for arrangements he created for Natalie Cole and Sheila Horn, and has been the conductor for Diane Krall on her orchestral concerts, as well as writing string arrangements for Paul McCartney's "Kisses On The Bottom" with the London Symphony.
Drummer Eliot Zigmund is a New York native who has been a professional musician for 50 years, having played with Bill Evans, Stan Getz, Lee Konitz, Jim Hall and many others. He is on the jazz studies faculties of NYU and William Paterson University and also teaches privately as well as gigging around New York and touring abroad.
