Barnstable Village Fire District Water Department Boil Water Order

This applies to the villages of Barnstable and Cummaquid only.

 A boil water order has been issued for the Barnstable Village Fire District until further noticed. E.coli and coliform bacteria were isolated to "standpipe #2," a water storage unit. The standpipe was inspected, cleaned and chlorinated. Workers have been flushing the water system in that area. Residents and visitors are advised to use boiled or bottled water for cooking, drinking, making ice, washing dishes, and brushing teeth. Boil water for one minute and let it cool before use.
