Steel repair work will resume on the Bourne Bridge on Wednesday and Thursday, weather permitting. Travel will be reduced to one lane in each direction while the work is done, between the hours of 7 AM and 3:30 PM on these two days. Travel delays are likely during the morning and afternoon peak travel periods.
Army Corps of Engineer officials said completion of the steel repairs is critical to maintaining the integrity of the bridge, which is a vital component of the transportation system for the Cape, islands and southeastern Massachusetts.
Those who want to be notified of changes to the bridge work schedule can sign up for the bridge work alerts via e-mail notifications. To sign up for the alerts, send an e-mail to:
CapeCodCanalBridges@usace.army.mil with the subject “Bridge Work Alerts.” An e-mail alert is sent when there are major changes to the bridge work status or schedule.
