A Change To Thursdays

Starting in two weeks, The Bourne Enterprise will be arriving in driveways and on store shelves throughout town on Thursdays—one day earlier than it has since we first began publication back in 1984.
We’re making the switch from a Friday to a Thursday publication on December 9 for a number of reasons, but the most significant reason is to get the local news into your hands one day sooner.
Want to find out what happened at Wednesday night’s school board meeting? We’ll have it for you the very next day.
Besides receiving selectmen’s votes, school sports, and police reports earlier, readers will also have a chance to peruse our entertainment pages on Thursday—plenty of time to make plans for the entire weekend.
An added benefit to Thursday delivery is that it allows us to give a rundown of what’s coming up for discussion at Thursday evening meetings, including any big projects under review by the planning board, in time for residents to get to those meetings.
Besides an earlier publication day, The Bourne Enterprise is going back to carrier delivery. The newspaper will no longer be delivered by mail, except for those folks who specifically request it.
We like the personal touch that carriers offer our subscribers, and by hiring local youngsters and drivers to deliver the newspaper, we’re putting our money to work in the community.
So starting in two weeks, don’t look for The Bourne Enterprise in your mailbox on Fridays. You can expect it on your doorstep or at the newsstand before you sit down for dinner on Thursdays.
We think you’ll like the change.
