During the summertime there may be no better place to party than at the beach, and that is the premise behind an independent music video set to shoot in Falmouth this weekend.

The video is for the song, “Let’s Go Together,” the brainchild of Worcester residents Kaz Gamble and Dan Burke, which has been picked up by Kitsune, a record label in France, one of many European countries where the musical piece has begun to receive attention.

The two musicians met while collaborating on the score for the feature film “Boyband,” which will screen at the upcoming Woods Hole Film Festival.

It was on that film that Alecia J. Orsini Lebeda of Falmouth, who worked as the production designer, met the two, striking up a relationship that has continued to this day.

 

And it is largely Ms. Lebeda who is the reason why the music video is being shot in Falmouth; she is set to both direct and produce it.

“The song is a lot about getting the party started, not wanting it to end and having a good time together,” she said.

She is also the production coordinator at Falmouth Community Television. “They thought the perfect setting would be on the beach, so I said, ‘Why don’t we shoot it here?’ ”

In recent weeks, Ms. Lebeda has sought the assistance of local talent to help in front of and behind the camera. She has found one in Lisa D. Asendorf of Hill and Plain Road, Hatchville, a newcomer to FCTV, who has assisted with location scouting for the video.

Ms. Lebeda said she hopes the video will be able to “show off the beauty of Falmouth and Cape Cod,” noting that it will be an opportunity to share that with Europeans.

“They [Kitsune] are showing this in France, and we want them to see how great it is here,” Ms. Lebeda said.

The majority of the video is set to take place at a beachfront property in a party-type setting. The crew initially had trouble finding such a location but have been given permission to use the beach in front of the Casino Wharf FX Restaurant on Grand Avenue in Falmouth Heights.

Because of the independent nature of the project, Ms. Lebeda said, all of the money for the video is being sunk into camera equipment, with all other costs being donations of creative talent and physical labor.

To that end Ms. Lebeda is seeking those to help with production as well as extras, with the understanding that those in front of the camera should expect to have fun.

“If people are willing to spend an afternoon hanging out by the beach or pool and willing to dance, we want them,” she said.

In terms of age, she said, extras should be older than 18 and look anywhere between the ages of 20 and 35. As for wardrobe, she said actors should be dressed in “Cape Cod chic” attire, a look similar to what may be found in a Vineyard Vines store.
