Krzysztof Malz, 45, of New Britain, Connecticut will be arraigned today on a charge of making a threat concerning the location of a dangerous item, to wit: explosives, after he allegedly claimed to have a bomb while boarding a Steamship Authority vessel in Woods Hole.

Captain Douglas M. Decosta of the Falmouth Police Department said police were contacted by the Steamship Authority last night after security personnel detained a passenger, identified as Mr. Malz, preparing to board a 9:45 PM vessel bound for Martha’s Vineyard.after he allegedly claimed during a security screening that he had a bomb.

No explosive device was located. Mr. Malz and an unidentified passenger allegedly claimed the bomb comment was meant as a joke.
