Falmouth Police Logs July 24 - 31, 2014

Monday, July 28, 2014
10:30 AM: A man turned over a BB gun to police that he wanted destroyed.

10:44 AM: Police arrested Kane J. Washington, 21, East Falmouth, at a Ter Heun Drive address for a warrant from Falmouth District Court for rape.

10:54 AM: A man reported that a fishing pole was stolen from his truck parked on Luscombe Avenue in Woods Hole.

1:02 PM: Police received a report that an infant was left unattended in a vehicle parked on Main Street with only a sliver of the window open. Police reported that Department of Child Services was notified.

2:27 PM: An employee of Walmart reported that someone shoplifted items from the store.

2:43 PM: A resident of Dove Cottage Road, Teaticket, reported a larceny. Police did not report more information from the incident.

3:07 PM: A resident dropped off a BB gun at the police station to be destroyed.

6:56 PM: Police arrested both Justin Beckwith, 20, of Teaticket Highway and Jessica M. Macura, 22, of Teaticket Highway at the Falmouth Mall for warrants from the Falmouth District Court. Police received information that Ms. Macura was at Stop & Shop, where they responded to but later found her at the Falmouth Mall parking lot, hidden between two chairs. Police arrested Mr. Beckwith as he exited Walmart. Mr. Beckwith’s warrants were for vandalizing property, larceny from a building, shoplifting and breaking and entering; Ms. Macura’s were for credit card fraud and larceny from a person.

1:15 AM: Police received a report that a shotgun shell was found near the DPW facility on Gifford Street.

11:03 AM: A resident turned in a wallet with $13 in cash inside to police. Police notified the owner.

11:34 AM: Police received a report that a trailer was stolen from a Teaticket Highway address.

1:32 PM: A woman turned in several rounds of ammunition from her home on Teaticket Highway.

4:18 PM: Police received a report that a wallet was stolen at the Sea Crest Beach Hotel.

4:44 PM: A resident turned in an iPhone and keys she found in a Scranton Avenue parking lot.

8:52 PM: Police received a report that a coyote was hit by car on East Falmouth Highway. A responding officer moved the animal off the road and reported the incident to Falmouth Animal Control.

9:17 PM: Police arrested Richard Bozora, 41, of Teaticket Highway during a domestic disturbance for assault and battery.

9:20 PM: A woman reported that she interrupted a man who attempted to break into her co-worker’s vehicle. She reported that the man hopped on his bike and rode away.

10:14 PM: Police arrested George T. Lumbert, 54, listed as homeless, when an officer responded to an unrelated call and believed Mr. Lumbert to be a suspect in a possible break-in of a vehicle. Police reported that he had three warrants from the Falmouth District Court.

An officer saw Mr. Lumbert duck into a dirt path across from Edwards Boat yard in East Falmouth. The officer followed him down the path and found a camp set up in the area. He arrested Mr. Lumbert on the warrants.

Mr. Lumbert’s warrants stemmed from an incident when he allegedly stole $1,435 in goods from Walmart on July 16.

Wednesday, July 30, 2104

12:08 AM: A resident of Braeside Road, Falmouth, reported that a tire on her car appeared to have been slashed. 

12:52 AM: Police responded to a home on Wheelhouse Circle, East Falmouth, for the report of an unwanted guest and brought a 44-year-old East Falmouth man into protective custody for being intoxicated.

7:10 AM: Police received a report that a man was bitten by a dog while on Central Avenue and was transported to Falmouth Hospital by his wife. Police reported the incident to animal control.

7:57 AM: A resident of Seascape Lane, North Falmouth, reported that a bike worth $2,200 was stolen from a garage overnight.

10:13 AM: A resident of Waterside Drive, North Falmouth, reported vandalism to a dog fence

11:55 AM: Police received a report that a dog was panting inside a car parked at the Falmouth District Court and referred the incident to animal control.

12:02 PM: A resident brought a found cellphone to the police station.

2:35 PM: A resident of Pinyon Way, East Falmouth, reported the larceny of jewelry. Police did not report further information.

3:18 PM: A resident of Rivers End Road, East Falmouth, reported the larceny of a fish finder chart card.

5:44 PM: A resident of Old Barnstable Road, East Falmouth, reported that a neighbor’s dog had been barking for two hours.

6:23 PM: Police received the report of a one-vehicle accident near the intersection of Old Barnstable Road and Carriage Shop Road, East Falmouth. Police reported that the driver was traveling south at the speed of 55 MPH on Old Barnstable Road. As he approached a turn, his vehicle then slid on the shoulder of the road for a distance of 105 feet before crashing into a telephone pole. Police charged the man, identified as James T. Mehler, 23, of East Falmouth, with impeded operation, speeding, and a marked lanes violation. He was transported to Falmouth Hospital.

6:26 PM: Police received the report of a person lying in the grass in front of Dunkin’ Donuts on East Falmouth Highway because of a possible overdose on alcohol and pills. Police did not report more information.

7:24 PM: A resident of Central Avenue, East Falmouth, reported that their home had been broken into. An investigation remains open.

Thursday, July 31, 2014

3:19 AM: A guest at the Holiday Inn on Jones Road reported that they could hear grunting and heavy breathing noises coming from a man in the room next door that sounded like he was in distress. Police responded and kicked in the door. On the other side, they found a man from Florida who had a warrant from Falmouth District Court for operation of a motor vehicle with no inspection sticker and for operating with a suspended license. Police did not determine what the noise was from but that the man was not suffeing from a medical issue. They identified him as Edward Feren, 47.

9:41 AM: Police responded to the Village Green on the report that Louis A. Gonzalez, 33, of Teaticket was there. He had three warrants out of Wareham District Court for assault and battery, and two counts of larceny. Mr. Gonzalez was arrested without incident.

9:52 AM: Police received the report of vandalism to a playground on Blacksmith Shop Road, West Falmouth.

10:23 AM: A resident reported that his 14-foot Great Canadian canoe was stolen from Deep Pond in East Falmouth.
