Falmouth Police Logs July 7 - 10, 2014

9:05 AM: A resident of Teaticket Path reported that while at the Falmouth Fireworks, someone broke into their home and stole jewelry.

9:42 AM: A resident of Montgomery Court, Falmouth Heights, reported that a window on their motor vehicle had been smashed.

9:52 AM: A resident of Lucerne Avenue, Falmouth Heights, said that money was taken from their vehicle overnight.

10:54 AM: A resident of Tam Way, East Falmouth, reported that their vehicle had been broken into overnight and an identification and credit card were stolen.

5:39 PM: Firefighters administered Narcan to a woman in the Walmart parking lot and then successfully transported her to Falmouth Hospital.

6:15 PM: Police were dispatched to a single car accident on Old Main Road, North Falmouth. Firefighters arrived and reported that the operator of a silver sedan had crashed head-on into a utility pole. The pole was leaning over the car when they arrived and the electricity was still on, police reported. The driver and three passengers had exited the car and police noted a strong odor of beer. They determined that John L. Lasnier, 19, Monmouth Circle, North Falmouth, was the operator and they arrested and charged him with being person under 21 transporting liquor and a marked lanes violation. Police noted that the three 19-year-old male passengers in the vehicle will be charged with alcohol possession.

8:37 PM: A resident of Nursery Road, Falmouth, reported that a bike was stolen from his yard.

12:07 AM: Patrolman Chad A. Leighton observed the driver of a vehicle pull into a driveway on Vidal Avenue, East Falmouth. The officer turned his car around and came across the car, which was then unoccupied. Shortly after he found the car, police received what was later deemed a false robbery alarm of an East Falmouth Highway residence. Ptl. Leighton found a scanner and other tools consistent with burglary in the vehicle. Stolen plates were attached to the car from two separate registrations. Police noted that charges are pending. They have reason to believe that the operator of the car called the false alarm in.

2:59 AM: Police arrested Abdull-Malik Bartele, Boxwood Circle, Falmouth, on a warrant from the Barnstable District Court for the unlicensed operation of a vehicle. They pulled him over on Teaticket Highway for unlicensed operation of a vehicle.

7 AM: The manager of the snack bar at the Falmouth Little League field reported that someone attempted break into the snack bar the previous night with a rock.

8:11 AM: A resident of Old Barnstable Road, East Falmouth, reported that their mailbox had been vandalized.

9:54 AM:  A resident of Lakeshore Drive, East Falmouth, reported that a dirt bike had been stolen.

10:35 AM: A guest at the InnSeason Harborwalk Resort reported that a bike was stolen off of their vehicle. Police reported that the bike was later recovered in the woods off Worcester Court.

1:40 PM: Police arrested Thomas R. Signore, 61, Massachusetts Court, East Falmouth, for two warrants from Barnstable District Court for disorderly conduct and for credit card fraud. An officer saw him riding a bike on Jones Road, Falmouth, and placed him under arrest.

6:40 PM: Someone reported that a vehicle was broken into while parked at a Scranton Avenue parking lot and that a laptop was stolen.

7:15 PM: Police received the report of a dog bite on Gifford Street, Falmouth.

7:30 PM: Police received a report that a man’s bike was stolen while he was inside a Main Street business.

9:55 AM: The manager of a Scranton Avenue, Falmouth, business stated that a vehicle parked on the lot would be towed because it was parked illegally. The manager also reported that a rock had been thrown through a window of the car.

1:47 PM: Lieutenant Christopher Hamilton arrested Fern E. Kady-Lopes, 25, Ashumet Road, Mashpee, on a warrant from the Falmouth District Court for receiving stolen property. Mashpee police requested the arrest.

2:22 PM: Police responded to the report of a motor vehicle crash in which a driver struck a rock wall. The driver, later identified as Timothy W. Hayward, 55, Antone Avenue, East Falmouth, stepped out of a vehicle and said that he was not injured. Police noted that he was unsteady on his feet. He was charged with a marked lanes violation and for drunk driving after he failed sobriety tests.

3:40 PM: A resident of Old Barnstable Road, East Falmouth, reported a domestic disturbance.

4:47 PM: Police responded to the Falmouth Mall parking lot for the report of an overdose. An officer arrived and found a woman performing CPR on a 23-year-old East Falmouth man. The woman said that she had seen him use heroin. Police reported that he survived and was transported to Falmouth Hospital.

10:44 PM: A resident of Teaticket Path reported that they saw five to seven children knocking down mail boxes in the neighborhood.

11:35 PM: Newly hired patrolman Michael Sylvester, along with field training officer David Massi, came across a man living in the Zylinksi House, a historic home scheduled for demolition on Teaticket Highway. He was sleeping on the floor of the home and after waking him, police found him to be extremely intoxicated. Police arrested the man, identified as Kurt Yenulevich, 49, listed as homeless, for trespassing and for breaking and entering for a misdemeanor.

5:50 AM: Patrolman Anthony DeVito observed a vehicle parked behind the Teaticket Elementary School with two occupants. One of the passengers, identified as Brian Rose, 20, King Street, Falmouth, had a warrant for vandalism and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon from Barnstable District Court. He was arrested without incident.

11:49 AM: Police responded to Locustfield Road, East Falmouth, and found that a 19-year-old Falmouth man died of an apparent heroin overdose.
