The Teaticket Elementary School principal search committee has passed over an initial round of candidates and re-posted the job.
The committee includes superintendent Bonny L. Gifford, teachers, school staff and parents.
“Although we had some qualified candidates, the committee just didn’t feel that any of them fit,” Dr. Gifford said on Wednesday. “It’s all about fit.”
Current principal Susan E. Driscoll, who has been out on medical leave since December, is retiring. The district’s director of early childhood education, Laney Cooke-Johnson, has been substituting in Ms. Driscoll’s absence.
The Teaticket search committee did offer the job to Lawrence school assistant principal Patrick J. Dillon, but he accepted the position of Morse Pond School principal instead.
“They really wanted Patrick,” Dr. Gifford said.
