An 18-year-old Falmouth High School graduate died after he jumped from a moving car behind East Falmouth Library at 9:35 this morning.

Officer Clifford Harris was in the area at the time and called Falmouth Fire Rescue for support. The ambulance personnel treated Mr. Fernandes and took him to Falmouth Hospital emergency room where he was later pronounced dead.

Falmouth Police said the circumstances which led to his death are currently under investigation and no further information is available at this time.

Falmouth High School guidance counselor Alan Kazarian said Mr. Fernandes graduated from Falmouth High School this past June. Mr. Fernandes went by A.J. and was a member of the Falmouth High School football team.

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
