The State Police Drug Task Force and Mashpee Police Department confiscated a significant amount of cash, heroin, and cocaine on Tuesday after executing a search warrant at a home at 14 Coombs Lane, which is located off of Great Neck Road North.
Marc C. Turner, 43, was arrested and charged with distribution of a Class A substance (heroin), Possession of a Class B substance (cocaine), and carrying a dangerous weapon – a knife. As a result of a motor vehicle stop earlier in the day, Mr. Turner was also charged with failure to stop for police, and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
Gun shots were fired at the same address in early September. At the time two residents of the home claimed that a masked individual confronted them in the driveway and an altercation ensued. One of the victims struggled with the suspect, who discharged two shots from a handgun and then fled the scene. No one was injured in the incident.
A police department press release indicated that the motor vehicle stop and search warrant execution that led to yesterday’s arrest was the culmination of a six-month investigation into the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics, specifically heroin.
Assisting in the investigation were members of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office, Dennis Police Department, Chatham Police Department, Sandwich Police Department, and Harwich Police Department.
