Brent Nightingale Ricci, 30, of Monument Beach died unexpectedly of a binary pulmonary embolism on May 26.
Born in Plymouth, Mr. Ricci was the second child of Christine (Nightingale) Ricci and David P. Ricci. He was a certified EMT and held an interest in anatomy and medicine.
He took an interest in music from an early age, learning how to play the violin and read and write music at the age of 10. Later, he played in many bands and learned to play other instruments, including the guitar and drums.
He had a passion for singing.
In addition to music, Mr. Ricci enjoyed scuba diving. He was a rescue diver, oxygen and nitrox instructor, and an instructor in many other diving specialties. He also enjoyed animals and the ocean.
In addition to his parents, he leaves his sister, Mareana Tiapula; his nephew, Tama Tiapula; his paternal grandparents, Mae and Joseph Ricci; his maternal grandmother, Hanneliese Nightingale; and an aunt, Swea Schoenwald.
Mr. Ricci was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Gardner Nightingale; two uncles, Brian Ricci and L.T. Watterson; and an aunt, Betsy LaFoley.
A private family service will be held.
