Donald Francis O’Connell, 88, of North Falmouth died on June 15. He leaves his wife of 64 years, Barbara (McAfee) O’Connell.
Mr. O’Connell served in the US Marine Corps during World War II.
He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and sat on the board of the South Shore chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for many years.
Mr. O'Connell enjoyed taking walks and was an avid tennis player.
In addition to his wife he leaves his children, Paul O’Connell and his wife, Sandra O’Connell, of West Falmouth, Peter O’Connell of Toronto and Kerin O’Connell of Quincy; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. O’Connell was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey O’Connell; and his brother, Robert O’Connell.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 19, at 10 AM at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 481 Quaker Road, North Falmouth followed by burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
