Donald R. Schroeder, 83, of Mashpee died on August 3.
He was the husband of Edythe Davinis for 29 years.
Mr. Schroeder was born in Preston, Iowa, the son of Vernon and Amalia (Billy) Bush Schroeder. He graduated from Northwestern University in 1952 with a degree in business.
He worked for Phillips Petroleum Company from 1954 to 1976. He started as a sales trainee in Raleigh, North Carolina, before becoming district manager of the New England region. He also served as president of both the Massachusetts Petroleum Council and the Boston Northwestern University Alumni Association.
Mr. Schroeder also was a founding partner at Energy North, a petroleum distributorship in the Boston area. He testified as an expert witness in a number of petroleum-related cases.
For the past 20 years. Mr. Schroeder worked for J.P. Noonan Transportation in West Bridgewater, where he was a sales and operation manager serving New England and upstate New York.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Schroeder leaves a daughter; two stepsons; four granddaughters; five great-grandchildren; a brother; and many extended family members.
He was husband of the late Harriett (Jones) Schroeder for 30 years; and was also predeceased by a daughter.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 8, from 4 to 7 PM at the John-Lawrence Funeral Home, 3778 Falmouth Road in Marstons Mills.
A funeral home service will be held tomorrow on Saturday, August 9, at 10 AM in the funeral home.
Burial will be private.
