Eleanor (Goulet) MacDuffie, 87, of Harwich died at Cape Cod Hospital on July 11. She leaves family in Sandwich.
She was predeceased by her husband, Crompton MacDuffie, whom she met while working at the ration board during World War II. They were married for 67 years.
Born in Grafton, Ms. MacDuffie was the youngest daughter of Wilfred and Florence (Blondin) Goulet. She worked as a hairstylist in Grafton prior to moving to Florida, where she earned her licensed practical nurse license and worked as a nurse until her retirement.
In 1986 Ms. MacDuffie and her husband returned to Massachusetts, where she lived in Harwich for the remainder of her life. While living on the Cape, she worked at Epoch of Brewster and Eagle Pond in Dennis.
She leaves her children, Ruth Foley of Harwich, Richard MacDuffie of Grafton, Francis MacDuffie and his wife, Selene McDuffie, of Harwich, and Virginia Farrell and her husband, Paul Farrell, of Sandwich. She also leaves eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Ms. McDuffie’s daughter, Mary McDuffie, died in 1994.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 15, from 4 to 7 PM at Morris, O’Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 678 Main Street, Harwich.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 16, at 11 AM at Holy Trinity Church, Route 28, West Harwich.
Burial will be private.
