Elizabeth Ann (Cody) Fox of Buzzards Bay, an active member of the Bourne community, died on June 24 after a battle with cancer.
Ms. Fox was born in 1952, the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Shaw) and Edward Cody. She graduated from Archbishop Williams High School and later Aquinas Junior College.
She was a Cub Scout den leader and a CCD teacher at St. Margaret’s Church in Buzzards Bay. She also was secretary of Bourne Little League for many years and helped start the first concession stand in Pocasset. She also served on the Bourne Recreation Committee.
As a member of the Bourne PTA, Ms. Fox was the first non-teacher to win the educator of the year award.
Ms. Fox loved making crafts, watching her children play sports, and cooking and entertaining for friends.
She leaves her husband, Kenneth Fox; a son, Stephen Fox; her sister, Barbara Tobin of Plymouth; and her brother, Edward Cody Jr. of Weymouth. Ms. Fox also leaves many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Daniel Fox.
Funeral arrangements will be private.
