Eugene C. Crowell, 88, of East Falmouth died at Bourne Manor on July 17.
Mr. Crowell was married to Marie Ellen (Connors) Crowell for 67 years.
He was born in Somerville to Meron and Blanche (Goodwin) Crowell. Mr. Crowell graduated from Tufts University and was a veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II.
Following his service, he was superintendent of public schools in Danvers, Cohasset, and Hull. Mr. Crowell was interviewed in 1980 as a candidate for the superintendent post in Falmouth.
Mr. Crowell enjoyed fishing, skiing, boating, and tennis.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Crowell leaves his daughters, Deborah Morin and Dianne Greathead, both of East Falmouth; and his son, David Crowell, also of East Falmouth. He also leaves his sister, Rhoda Crowell of New Hampshire; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 21, from 4 to 7 PM at Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 475 Main Street, Falmouth.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 22, at 10 AM at St. Anthony’s Church, 167 East Falmouth Highway.
Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
